Top 5 Chromebook deals of the week

Top 5 Chromebook deals of the week

It’s I/O week and while we’re focused on Google’s next Pixel phone lineup, I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the best Chromebook deals of the week. This week, there are some oldies but goodies and a new kid on the block. All of which offer up some serious savings and will get you into a late-model Chromebook at a very affordable price. So, let’s get to it.

I started doing a monthly deal roundup a while back to highlight the biggest and best discounts at the beginning of each month. Problem is, that the deals change so frequently that the monthly roundup often overlooked some of the BEST deals that just happened to drop later in the month. For that reason, we are now going to bring you a weekly(perhaps bi-weekly) roundup of the best ChromeOS deals around. Here, you’ll find my top five picks of the week but you can still count on more deals throughout the month as they arrive. So, without further ado, here are my top five Chromebook deals for May 9th, 2023.

Acer Chromebook Spin 714

Easily one of the best Chromebooks of 2022, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 features powerful 12th Gen Intel internals will a solid 8GB of RAM and a beefy 256GB SSD. Sporting a bright, 16:10 display, the Spin 714 has more than enough screen real estate to stay productive even whey you aren’t tethered to a second monitor. The aluminum chassis keeps the same premium build quality we’ve come to know and love from the Spin family and this model adds a very useful USI stylus that recharges while stowed in the keyboard deck. Normally $729, you can pick up this formidable Chromebook convertible right now and save a tasty $200.

HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook

While never marketed directly to consumers, the pricey HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook has been highly sought after for those willing to fork over a pretty penny. This 12th Gen Intel 2-in-1 was applauded as the first-ever ChromeOS devices to wear the Dragonfly branding and while its consumer counterpart, the Dragonfly Pro, may be more consumer-focused, the Elite Dragonfly has a lot to offer in the way of features and is worth a look. Right now is a great time to buy an Elite Dragonfly for two reasons. First, most of the models are marked down significantly. Second, you can take an extra 20% off the sale price when you use the promo code CHROME20 at checkout. That knocks the price of the Core i3 model down to a respectable $800.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5

My absolute favorite ChromeOS tablet of all time, the Duet 5 is just powerful enough to use as a daily driver if you live your life on the web. The 13.3″ OLED display is perfect for content consumption and the included keyboard is sturdy enough that you can actually use the Duet 5 in your lap if, need be. At $499, some may shy away from this Chromebook in favor of something in the convertible realm but when you knock $100 off, this because a very desirable tablet whether your using it as a primary device or simply for daily content consumption. You can pick up the Duet 5 by Lenovo from Best Buy for only $399 for a limited time.

ASUS 15.6″ Vibe Cloud Gaming Chromebook

ASUS’ first iteration of the Cloud Gaming Vibe Chromebook didn’t exactly knock our socks off but that doesn’t retract from everything this powerful convertible has to offer. Feature an 11th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a subtle but cool gaming “vibe”, the 15.6″ convertible has more than enough horsepower to handle work and play with ease. At $699, I’d point you in the direction of a newer 12th Gen device but when you take $150 off this powerful Chromebook, it then becomes a device worth your consideration. Pick one up at Best Buy for the very respectable price of only $549.

HP Chromebook 15.6″

This Chromebook is new to the market and while it doesn’t fall under the “premium” category, the 12th Gen Intel Pentium processor that’s under the hood features an ample amount of raw power. Paired with 8GB of RAM, this 15.6″ clamshell can easily handle moderate computing tasks and give you the added bonus of extra screen space and a built-in numeric keyboard for crunching some numbers. This model does have a less than savory 1366 x 768 panel but for the sale price of only $299, it’s a solid Chromebook to use at home for work, school or basic web-based tasks. The latest HP Chromebook 15.6″ just hit the market last week and it is already on sale at a $100 discount which makes it a very useful and budget-friendly device.
