It’s hard to believe it’s been over three years since the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook first had us drooling at CES 2020.

 A new LTC-114 version, 114.0.5735.329 (Platform Version: 15437.66.0), is being rolled out for most ChromeOS devices. If you have devices in the LTC channel, they will be updated to this version. The LTS channel remains on LTS-108 until September 19th, 2023.

At Google I/O 2023, we announced Vertex AI PaLM 2 foundation models for Text and Embeddings moving to GA and expanded foundation models to new modalities – Codey for code, Imagen for images and Chirp for speech – and new ways to leverage and tune models.

That’s a tough headline to write, folks, but it’s true. The now long-awaited Snapdragon 7c+ Gen 3 Chromebooks we’ve been tracking for months are all apparently being scrapped before ever seeing the light of day. And I’m a bit sad about it.

Per Nail Sadykov on X, an editor on the Google News Telegram channel (and later posted by Mishaal Rahman), Google seems to be working on an Apple-esque “Device Linking” feature that would allow you to seamlessly shift an active phone call between your phone and other devices, presumably a Chromebook.
