Last month, we’ve reported Google has decided to install 64-bit Chrome to Program Files folder on Windows. Today, we noticed the change already came into effect and applies to Chrome 85 beta and Chrome 86 dev installations as Chrome executable of these versions now running from Program Files path.

QR Code Generator in Chrome 86 Canary has gained the ability to create QR code for the images also in addition to pages. Google added a context menu option to images to support this. The feature is live and working in Canary.

You can now modify the saved Passwords in the Chrome browser with the new “Edit password” option available in the Passwords Settings page. The feature is currently available behind a flag in Chrome Canary for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS and is working when enabled.

Google’s Nearby Sharing feature that allows us to share files and photos between devices using Chrome, is finally showing up on Chrome browser on Windows. Google has been working on to bring AirDrop like file sharing feature to Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook devices for a while now.

Google wants to ensure the tabs in the tab group after collapsing shouldn’t consume resources in the background, that’s why the company is working to bring “tab freezing” behind the experimental “Tab Groups Collapse Freezing” feature in Chrome Canary.

Google is updating Global Media Controls UI in the Chrome browser with options to manage cast sessions and select audio devices to play the music through GMC. Global Media Controls or Media Hub lets you manage media playing in the Chrome browser.

Google Chrome extension “Screenshot & Screen Capture Elite ” with over 1 million user installs is reportedly injecting ads into Google Search results page.
