The sidebar on Microsoft Edge helps you use search, shopping or a few other things. However, if the sidebar is bothering you, you can always remove it. Let me show you how.
Auto-hide Edge Sidebar
Before you turn off the Edge sidebar completely, let me show you an alternative option. You can set it to auto-hide.
With auto-hide, the sidebar appears only when you click the Discover icon on the top-right corner.

To auto-hide the Edge sidebar, click the Auto-hide sidebar icon on the bottom-right corner of the Edge window.

Disabling Edge Sidebar
If auto-hide is not enough, you can turn off the sidebar. Follow these steps to disable the Edge sidebar:
- Click the three-dot settings menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- From the left pane, select Sidebar.
- Switch off the Always show sidebar toggle. The sidebar disappears.
