Google Chrome blocks pop-ups from all websites by default. This is the recommended practice. However, if for some reason you want to disable this popup blocker, you can do that too.
Disabling Pop-up Blocker for a Specific Website
Before disabling the pop-up blocker for all websites, let me show you how to add exceptions for certain websites. Continue to the next section where I show you disabling pop-up blockers for all websites, only if this does not meet your needs.
To block pop-ups from a single website:
- Click the three-dots settings menu.
- Choose Settings.
- From the left pane, select Privacy and Security.
- Select Site Settings.
- Alternatively, you can click the settings icon on the address bar and choose Site Settings while visiting websites.
- Under Additional permissions, select Pop-ups and redirects.
- In the Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects section, select Add.
- In the Add a site pop-up, enter the website you want to allow pop-ups from and select Add.
Websites you add here will be allowed to send pop-ups and redirects. In most cases, you’ll only need this.
For those exceptions, let me now show you how to allow popups from all websites.

Summary
Not all pop-ups are created equal. There will be situations where you will need to allow them. However, in general, be wary of pop-ups and redirects you find on the internet.
