10 Underrated Games to Stream on Chromebook Right Now

Streaming games on a Chromebook has become increasingly viable, thanks to cloud gaming services like NVIDIA GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Amazon Luna.

That fact, coupled with the increasing power and performance of Chromebooks themselves, means it is entirely possible to stream high-quality games without hiccups.

Of course, plenty of Chromebook owners will already use their devices to stream top games, but we wanted to create a list highlighting some underrated titles you can play on your Chromebook right now.

These games, of various genres, have largely flown under the radar over recent years, but they’ll keep you entertained for hours:

Indika

A game with the strangest of premises: Indika is a Russian nun on a mission to deliver a letter to a monastery. On the way, she must solve puzzles and encounter some weird and wacky situations. It’s a kind of hybrid puzzle game and surrealist horror. It’s weird, but brilliant.

Grimvalor

With a healthy score of 86% on Metacritic, Grimvalor does exactly what you’d expect from a hack-and-slash platformer.

Yes, it doesn’t exactly bring anything new to the genre, but that’s absolutely fine. Your aim is to discover the secrets of the long-lost King of Vallaris as you navigate through this easy-to-play but fun game. A good option for fans of the Dark Souls series.

Rusty Lake Paradise

“Bizarre and brilliant” is how PC World described this puzzle game, and we can’t help but agree. The surrealist horror puzzle game is one of three in the Rusty Lake series, but Paradise continues the threads from the previous two games.

Navigate your way through the island beset by ten Ancient Egyptian plagues in this game that puts more emphasis on action than puzzles.

Gravity Blackjack Live

The explosion of live dealer games has created a slew of innovative interpretations of classic card and table games.

Gravity Blackjack Live by Iconic21 is among the best, allowing players to play the beloved card game as a community with all players sharing the same hand. The live stream from a studio really puts the emphasis on the social side of casino gaming.

Riptide GP: Renegade

Want some “illicit” hydrojet racing? Of course you do. Originally designed for mobile, this game made its way onto the Switch, PS4, and PC. It’s high-octane and delivers some serious fun whether in multiplayer or single-player career mode. Arguably the best of the Riptide series.

Kandria

We have to admit that some critics didn’t love Kandria, with some suggesting that it had a problem with identity. Is it an RPG? A platformer? Hack-and-slash?

For us, though, it doesn’t matter, as Kandria offers a fascinating journey into the world of the macabre. It arguably has the most beautiful and unique graphics on this list.

Slayaway Camp

Not one to play with the kids. Slayaway Camp is a darkly comedic puzzle game where you control a psychotic killer, navigating your way through various levels and a trail of blood. The game can be hilarious at times, although it’s definitely not for the faint-hearted.

A Short Hike

If you need to lower your heart rate after playing Slayaway Camp, then why not try the calming experience of A Short Hike? You’ll hike and explore the beautiful mountain peaks of Hawk Peak Provincial Park, interacting with other hikers in this unique and atmospheric adventure game.

Eastshade

The sequel to Leaving Lyndow, Eastshade came out in 2019 but continues to hold up as an open-world game. Like A Short Hike, it’s somewhat relaxing (it’s combat-free), built around concepts like nature, exploration, painting, and photography. One reviewer on Metacritic called it a “little gem” – that’s on the money.

Eastshade

Creature in the Well

Finishing with the crossover you didn’t know you needed – Creature in the Well blends pinball and traditional hack-and-slash gameplay. You’ll be tasked with venturing deep into a mountain to restore power to an ancient facility. But beware, a mysterious creature lies within.
